ClearBits, sitio de distribución de contenidos audiovisuales libres mediante bittorrent

ClearBits es un sitio web dedicado a la distribución de música libre y archivos audiovisuales con licencia Creative Commons. Todas las descargas se efectúan con permisos de sus dueños, por lo que son completamente legales, y los contenidos tienen bastante calidad. No muy conocido, pero es una gran forma de descubrir bandas desconocidas, de las que podemos descargar discos enteros de forma sencilla y rápida gracias al uso del protocolo BitTorrent.

La banda Nine Inch Nails va a publicar su nuevo disco con una licencia CC, tal y como he leido en el blog de Lessig. Trent Reznor y su banda ya se habían ido aproximando a esta idea, publicando temas en formato original para que se puedan editar y remezclar así que no deberíamos extrañarnos de que los creadores de temas como los de Mr. Self Destruct, la BSO de Quake y muchos grandes discos hayan tomado esta decisión. ¡Enhorabuena y muchas gracias!

Free Me! Cultura Libre en un DVD

Hace tiempo que lo había visto esto en Alt1040, pero se había quedado perdido el enlace entre una maraña de anotaciones. Hoy por fin lo he rescatado y lo publico en el blog.

Free Me! es un DVD que muestra lo mejor de la cultura libre, si lo pones en un reproductor de DVD muestra películas, si lo introduces en tu ordenador, puedes escuchar música o leer unos cuantos textos. Este material está bajo licencias libres (Copyleft o Creative Commons) y para colmo funciona como Live CD de Ubuntu.
